Afghanistan is composed of many ethnicities with different languages and
in many cases quite different traditions and values. But the common
thing about this complex ethnic picture is that we are all Afghans.
Pashtun, Tajik, Hazara and Uzbek all belong to the same soil. That is
why we should have the same heroes and the same enemies.
But is that really so? No it is not - unfortunately.

 The
Afghan embassy's website in Poland shows the notorious warlord Ahmad
Shah Masood among the very respected Afghan figures like his highness
the King and the president Karzai. It is, least said, the worst case of
racism and party politics. |

I happened to check the
websites of Afghan ebmassies all around the world and I found out many
shocking facts: Most of them have a clearly descriminating
attitude towards Pashto language. Pashto is undermined on many Afghan
embassy sites but the worst of all is the website of Afghan embassy in
Poland.
It has, as a matter of fact, very provoking layout and a clearly
descriminating content. The entry page of the site contains the photos
of The Father of nation his highness the King and the notorious
warlord of the Panjshir valley Ahmad Shah Masood. Both are shown as the
people who represent Afghanistan.
This is a clear attempt to depict Masood as a national hero which we at
Zmong-Afghanistan.COM strongly condemn. The job of an embassy is to
represent a whole nation and take into consideration all the ethnic
groups of a land. That is why it makes no sense to us that the
ambassador has chosen to display Masood among the respected figures of
the nation like his highness the King and the president Karzai.
In addition to that, the website has completely
ignored Pashto and all the information about Passport and Visa is in
English, Polish and Dari. Not even a word of Pashto, which is the
language of the majoriy and one of the official languages in
Afghanistan, can be found on the site.
Safis Web strongly condemns this act and considers this an abvious case
of descrimination and racism. We have contacted the embassy and
expressed our opinion on the matter and we hope the ambassador would
take the necessary action to correct the matter.

It is a shameful act and the fact that it is on the website representing
the embassy of Afghanistan makes the matter worse. Pashtuns have always
been considerate and shown least interest in such matters, that is why
today Pashto's existence is in clear danger. |

Some people complain that some Pashtun sites, like Safi web, do not represent the Tajiks in their websites. That is false, atleast most Pashtun websites refer to Tajiks as brothers, and don't put up humiliating stuff against them. Atleast they don't monger hate and animosity towards them. In reality, it is actually the Tajiki websites that promote hate among Afghans, websites that promote ethnic supremacy, and ethnic hatred and cleansing. | Comments: The one-sided partisan website of Polish Afghan Embassy is indeed a clear and disastrous depiction of racism and ethnic nationalism. Afghan unity and tolerance towards all Afghan nationals have been sacrificed for their own selfish dictum of accrediting a personal "hero," whom some Afghans don't even warrant a status of a hero. This shows that some Afghans, or in this case, Tajiks, are willing to promote their ethnicty superiority on the basis of personal bias and hatred. Such kind of ignorant and geonicidal representatives should not be elected to these kinds of offices in the first place, otherwise, it will result in more ethno-political hatred among the various ethnicities of Afghanistan.

The sites you mentioned are all personal sites and personal sites could be anything because it is a personal choice. But what we are talking about here is a web site that represents the whole community of Afghans in Poland and it is racist to bring forward a personal point of view like 'Masoos an Afghan Hero' I wouldn't piss on this guy because they all are 'watan faroosh' and are accountable for thousands of innocent lives. |
